DAFI Sudan Scholarship 2026
Applications are open until 30th September 2026.
Windle Trust International (WTI), in partnership with UNHCR, has opened the second round of applications for the Sudan DAFI (Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative Fund) Scholarship Programme, supported by the Mastercard Foundation.
The programme provides vital access to tertiary education for refugees, supporting study at universities, colleges, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across Sudan.
75 scholarships are available for university and college students
50 scholarships are available for TVET programmes
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be:
A registered refugee or refugee returnee and currently living in Sudan
Be enrolled in, or hold an admission offer from, a recognised higher education or TVET institution in Sudan
A holder of Sudanese Secondary School Certificate or equivalent for admission in higher education institution in Sudan
Aged 28 years and below
In need of financial support to continue education
Application process
Read the full Eligibility Criteria above and ensure that you are eligible for the scholarship you’re applying for.
Applications must be submitted online.
You must also include the following supporting documents:
Copy of identification (Refugee or refugee returnee ID, or Factsheet).
Copy or admission or enrollment letter for enrolled students.
Copy of admission qualifications for unenrolled students.
Female students are highly encouraged to apply.
Priority is given to students in their first or second year of university.
The deadline to apply is the 30th September 2026.

Exceptions are not made to the eligibility criteria.
