Our approach & values

At the heart of our approach is localisation.

We operate in some of the world’s most fragile regions, where conflict, climate change, and economic instability drive recurring crises.

Children and young people are hardest hit, facing repeated school closures. Yet education remains a vital tool for protection, empowerment, and recovery.

We believe that sustainable education outcomes are best achieved when power, knowledge, and resources are held by those closest to the communities we serve.

From 2026–2030, we will deepen our localisation agenda by continuing to empower national staff, expand local partnerships, and integrate local voices into governance - aiming to model what it means to be an international organisation led by local expertise.

The Fraud Pledge

Fraud is an ever-evolving and increasing criminal threat to society. No organisation – charitable or otherwise – can make itself completely immune to fraud but it can take steps to minimise the risks.

Windle Trust International is committed to doing precisely that, which is why we have signed the Fraud Pledge. By taking the pledge we are showing that we work actively to prevent fraud, wherever it might occur in our organisation.
