Somaliland Teacher Training Scholarship Opportunity

Windle Trust International is pleased to announce 8 scholarships open to female graduates of the National Teacher Training College (NTTC) to pursue a 2-year undergraduate programme at the University for Hargeisa.
Eligibility Criteria
Academic ability:
Candidates should hold a diploma from the National Teacher Training College with a GPA of at least 2.8. You will need to upload your diploma for verification. You do not need an offer of admission to apply but you must be able to commit to 2 years of learning at the University of Hargeisa (2026-2028).
Gender:
This is a female specific scholarship.
Location, origin and status:
Applicants should be currently resident in Somaliland. The scholarship is open to nationals of Somaliland and documented refugees from East, Central or the Horn of Africa. Refugees will be asked for proof of status.
Need:
Candidates must show demonstrated need, defined by WTI as one or more of the following:
From a low-income family
Orphan
Close relatives not working
Applicant with a disability
Family opposition to the applicant attending university
First female in the family to join higher education

Exceptions are not made to the eligibility criteria.

Note: Meeting the minimum criteria is in no way a guarantee of sponsorship due to the large number of eligible candidates and limited available funds. These criteria reflect currently identified development priorities and may change in the future. These criteria should be read alongside the Scholarship Policy (2020) for overall criteria and priorities and are written to provide more specific criteria relevant to the Somaliland Teacher Training Scholarships Programme.
In addition to the Selection Priorities outlined in the WTI Scholarship Policy (2020), scholars on this programme must also meet the minimum criteria and conditions listed above.
